CIRCULAR NO. 14/99-FIESTA MASS

To the Clergy, Religious and Lay Faithful of the Archdiocese

Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

Peace!

As we have experienced, the holding of discos during the eve of a fiesta (visperas) has become an obstacle to the religious observance of the fiesta day. In fact, such activities have become occasions when crime and other forms of immortality thrive.

On account of this and for pastoral reasons, I hereby decree that,

No fiesta mass shall ever be celebrated in a barangay or sitio if on the fiesta eve (visperas), a disco is held.

We hope that by upholding the Christian values in our communities, we shall mature in faith and holiness as a people drawn to the Father in love.
