CIRCULAR # 6/07 – On “Fr. Clifford Garcia”

February 27, 2007

To the Clergy and Lay Faithful

of the Archdiocese of Cebu

It has come to my attention that a certain “Fr. Clifford Garcia” is reportedly celebrating the Holy Mass and presiding over funeral services in our archdiocese. After having this matter investigated, it is confirmed that ” Fr. Clifford Garcia” is not an ordained priest of the Roman Catholic Church.

“Fr. Garcia” claims to be a member of the Congregation of St. Charles of Brazil (CSC), which is not in communion with our Roman Catholic Church; hence, the masses he has celebrated as well as the other sacraments he has administered are deemed illicit and invalid.

We have in our possession  a certification issued to Atty. Rundell T. Quijano stating that ” Fr. Garcia” worked as an encoder for Philippine International Trading Corporation (PTIC) from July 2000 to August 24, 2006.

Please be forewarned of “Fr. Garcia’s” illicit activities and report to the Chancery any further “violations” he has committed so that appropriate actions can be taken.

God bless you.

In Christ,

+RICARDO J. CARDINAL VIDAL

Archbishop of Cebu
