Your Excellencies, Reverend Monsignori, Reverend Fathers:

The Siete Palabras, a Lenten reflection on the Seven Last Words of Our Lord Jesus Christ, has been an important source of meditative and prayerful reflection for the Catholic faithful every Good Friday of Our Lord’s Passion. Catholics from all walks of life gather at the Metropolitan Cathedral and a lot more are glued to their television and radio sets to watch and listen to different speakers expounding on each word based on the Lenten theme.

Beginning this year, priests are discouraged from taking part in a Siete Palabras other than the one held at the Metropolitan Cathedral. Alsom please install television monitors and if need be, additional speakers in strategic places of the parish church so that more people can have better viewing access to the ceremonies taking place at the Metropolitan Cathedral.

May we draw strength from our Lord who suffered for us as we lead the faithful to a fruitful and meaningful observance of the Lenten season.
