Congregation Vision
Moved by the Spirit of our great Father St. Augustine and of our Foundress, Mother Rita Barcelo, we, the Augustinian Sisters of Our Lady of Consolation envision ourselves to become women disciples of the Compassionate Christ, rooted in Gospel values. In Solidarity with our people especially the poor and the whole of God’s creation, we become prophetic witness by our life of action-contemplation towards a renewed in integral evangelization.
Mission Statement
The present situation in the world is characterized by serious injustices caused by greed and selfishness. In the Philippines, wealth and power are concentrated in the hands of a few. We are caught up in unjust structures and systems which have brought massive and abject poverty, violation of human rights and dignity, exploitation of the poor and domestication of values. Under these conditions, our people experience helpless misery, unrest and untold sufferings. Faced with these realities, the Church urges us to participate in developing the whole man and in transforming society. Likewise, our Charism compels us to share in the Redemptive Mission of the Compassionate Christ. We believe that God’s plan is for man to be liberated from all sins and unfreedom, so that he may fully develop his potentials, attain his hum dignity and become his image and glory. We uphold man’s capacity to live out the Gospel values. In response to all these challenges, and in solidarity with our people, we, the Augustinian Sisters of the Philippines commit ourselves to the task of Evangelization that will effect both personal and structural change. Thus, hastening the establishment of God’s Kingdom of Justice, Freedom, Peace and Love.
